The aim of this page is to give you more information on the different bed sizes available to help make your search for a new bed a bit easier. Beds are usually available in four standard sizes. These are listed below along with the dimensions for each.

Other less common bed sizes include the small single (30" x 75", 75cm x 190cm), the super single (41" x 75", 105cm x 190cm) and the three quarter size bed (48" x 75", 120cm x 190cm).
Which bed size you need will depend on the amount of space you have in your room as well as what the bed will be used for. Generally speaking you should buy the biggest bed you can afford and which will fit into your bedroom. The bigger the bed size, the more room you have and consequently the better quality of sleep you are likely to get.
It is also possible to buy beds in non standard sizes. You would have to approach the manufacturer or retailer to ask if this is possible. You might need a non standard bed size if you have an unusual shape room or if you want an extra large bed.
Bed sizes outsize of the UK vary slightly from the UK standard bed sizes. In the US the queen size bed corresponds to our king size bed while the king size bed corresponds to our super king size bed. In Australia, the single bed is the same size as in the UK, while the queen bed is the same size as in the US. The australian king size bed is the same length as the US king but is the same width and the UK super king size bed. In Europe the bed sizes are similar to in the UK. One difference is that all beds are a standard length of 200cm. All of this information is summarised in the table below.
