Cots come in a variety of styles and finishes so you should be able to find something which you like. The most popular cots are made of solid beech or pine but there are alternatives. It is wise to choose a cot with a three or four position mattress which can be lowered as your baby grows. It is also worth investigating how easy or difficult it is to adjust the mattress height on your chosen baby cot. A lot of cots will have a single drop side which can be lowered to help to lift your baby out.
