New Bed Home Page : Bed Buying Guide

There are a lot of choices to make when buying your new bed which can make it a time consuming process. The top tips below have been adapted from the advice given by the sleep council on their website.

1. Before you start shopping for your new bed, decide your priorities and concerns in advance. For example, it could be the price, storage options, how to get the bed into the bedroom, turning the mattress, getting in and out of bed, overall size or shape or any relevant health issues.

2. It is always a good idea to try a selection of beds for comparison before you buy. The sleep council suggest that you lie down in your normal sleeping position and make some turns on the bed. It is important to take your time when trying out the new bed and not feel rushed.

3. Don't forget a bed is a mattress and a base working together - don't consider them in isolation.

4. Think big - you should buy the biggest bed that will fit your budget and your bedroon. In general, larger beds are more comfortable.

5. You get what you pay for - both in product and service - so spend as much as you can afford.
