Airsprung originated in 1871 when Hedley Chapman founded a factory in Wiltshire. The original companies name was changed to Airsprung in the 1950s to reflect the new design of interior sprung mattresses that was to make the company famous. Since it started over 130 years ago, Airsprung has grown into a company now employing over 1700 people across the UK. In 2004 Airsprung was the first company to launch a mattress which does not need to be turned.
